Meet Wayne!

Born and raised in Beverly on the city’s south side, Wayne Slezak has lived in the Chicago area for most of his life. Wayne’s professional creative career began in 1977 when he landed a job as a photo assistant for photographer Mike Smid at Chicago’s famed Grignon Studios on Lake Shore Drive. After gaining some experience, he headed to North Carolina to work for Alderman Company, producing interior architectural and furniture images for department store advertising campaigns. Missing his hometown (and 16-inch softball), Wayne headed back to Chicago and spent the next 10 years working at photo studios, managing and shooting product photography for various manufacturers and catalogs.

In 1990, ready to venture out on his own, Wayne established Slezak Photography LLC and set up shop in the West Loop. He concentrated on product photography, shooting in his studio and on location throughout the United States.

In 2017, Wayne opened a new studio in Mt. Prospect, specializing in small product photography for advertising, where he continues to operate today. Over his nearly 40-year career, Wayne has seen and photographed it all – home goods, furniture, appliances, automobile parts, towels, bedding, clothing, food and beverage and more. His background in graphic design allows him to see the bigger picture, ensuring beautiful, balanced lighting and composition in every shot.

Wayne’s extensive experience, adaptability and friendly demeanor allow him to roll with challenges as they come and improvise quickly, keeping the stress out of the photography experience and ultimately making your job easier. He can fit in seamlessly with existing internal creative departments to help companies increase their sales with effective, elevated product photography and imagery.
